Necesse Server Hosting

A persistent shared colony world for you and your friends, hosted around the clock. World and server settings, backups, and a full console are all managed from the panel without touching config files.

Persistent Shared World

Your colony world runs 24/7, so the settlement and its progress stay live whether or not anyone is online. Everyone joins the same ongoing world by IP and port.

Server Settings from the Panel

World save name, player slots, join password, and message of the day are all set from the panel Startup settings. No launch arguments to hand-edit.

Automatic Backups

The world save is backed up automatically and on demand. Restore the whole world from the panel if something goes wrong, or download the save file.

Crash Auto-Restart

If the server process exits unexpectedly, the panel detects it and restarts automatically, so a crash while you are away does not leave the colony offline.

Full Console and File Manager

Live server output and command input in the browser, plus a file manager to browse, edit, upload, and download server files without FTP.

Auto Update on Boot

Optionally re-check Steam for the latest Necesse build on every restart, so the server stays on the current version for your players.

UK and EU Servers

Servers hosted on Hetzner hardware in Germany, plus a live UK node in London. Good connections for players across the UK and Europe.

Frequently asked questions

What is a Necesse dedicated server?

A Necesse dedicated server hosts one shared world that runs on its own, so you and your friends join the same ongoing colony whether or not the person who created it is online. We run it around the clock, keep the world save backed up, and give you a panel to manage it from any browser.

How many players can my Necesse server support?

Player capacity is set by your plan's RAM and the player-slots value you choose in the panel. Necesse is a light Java server, so a small always-on server comfortably keeps a co-op group's world running. Our Starter plan (2 GB RAM) suits a small group; Standard (3 GB) and Pro (4 GB) add headroom for larger parties and bigger explored worlds.

Can I set a password on my Necesse server?

Yes. Set a join password from the panel Startup settings and only people you share it with can connect. Leave it blank for an open co-op world. The world name, player slots, and message of the day are set the same way, and changes apply on the next restart.

Are my world saves backed up?

Yes. The world save is backed up automatically and on demand. If a session goes wrong you can restore the whole world from the panel, or download the save file to keep your own copy.

Is there a free trial for Necesse?

Yes. You can try the full panel with a live Necesse server for 24-hour, with no credit card required. The server pauses when the trial ends and your data is kept so you can continue later.

Where are your Necesse servers located?

Most of our servers run on Hetzner hardware in Germany, and we also have a real UK node live in London. Between the two you get good connections for players across the UK and Europe.
