A World Manager, Not a File List
Valheim does not store a world as a single file. Next to the live pair it leaves older rollbacks and its own timed backups, which all look alike in a plain file list. The World Manager shows which two files are your live world, restores an earlier one without overwriting your current copy, and downloads the pair.
Automatic Backups, with Restore
Backed up on a schedule you set and restored from the panel in a couple of clicks. You can pull a single file out of a backup instead of rolling the whole world back. A restore stops the server and asks first, so you never end up half-swapped.
Server Settings from the Panel
Server name, world name, and password are fields in the panel, not lines in a config file you have to find first. There is also a launch-arguments box for flags we do not surface a dedicated field for.
Listed in the Server Browser
Your server appears in Valheim's in-game browser under its own name, so friends can find it by name. Prefer to stay unlisted? Set Public to 0 on the Startup page.
Bring the World You Already Play On
Moving from a locally-hosted world? Upload your existing world files and the server carries on from where you were, rather than generating a new one.
Real Access to Your World Files

Do you back up my Valheim world?
Yes. Your world is backed up on a schedule you set and on demand, and you can restore it from the panel in a couple of clicks or pull a single file out of a backup. The World Manager tells the live world pair apart from older rollbacks and Valheim's own timed backups, so you always know which two files are your current world.
Can I move my existing Valheim world over?
Yes. Upload both of your world files, the .db and the .fwl, through the browser file manager and set the world name to match, and the server carries on from where you were playing rather than generating a fresh one. You can also download the pair from the panel any time to keep your own copy.
Will my server show up in the in-game server browser?
Yes. Your server is listed in Valheim's in-game browser under its own name, so friends can find it by name rather than by address. If you would rather stay unlisted, set Public to 0 on the Startup page.
How much RAM does a Valheim server need?
A 4 to 10 player server typically needs 4 to 8 GB, and larger parties or bigger explored worlds push that up. Our Standard plan (4 GB) suits most parties; Pro (8 GB) adds headroom for a bigger group and a long-running world.
Do I need to set a password?
Yes, Valheim requires one. It must be at least five characters and it cannot match the world name, and that is Valheim enforcing it rather than us. You set and rotate it from the panel Startup settings whenever you need to change who can get in.
