Project Zomboid server hosting on Zeros Host

Zeros Host offers Project Zomboid dedicated server hosting from £10/mo, with Steam Workshop mod support, a visual sandbox configuration editor, and a 24-hour free trial. Here is what each tier gets you.

Running a private Project Zomboid server opens up things the public servers cannot give you: custom zombie populations, agreed loot settings, and mods your group actually wants. Zeros Host is set up for exactly that kind of server.

Plans and pricing

Project Zomboid hosting starts at £10 per month for the Starter tier: 4 GB RAM and 40 GB storage, suited to small co-op survival groups. The Standard tier at £14/mo (6 GB RAM, 60 GB storage) is the most popular choice for lightly modded servers and larger groups. The Pro tier at £19/mo (8 GB RAM, 90 GB storage) covers heavy mod setups, higher player counts, and priority support. Full pricing is at zerosrp.co.uk/pricing.

Every plan starts with a 24-hour free trial. No credit card needed. You get full panel access to install mods, configure sandbox settings, and test your connection before committing.

Sandbox configuration

The panel includes a visual editor for sandbox settings rather than raw Lua file editing. Zombie population, movement speed, loot rarity, day length, water and electricity shutoffs, XP multipliers, and infection rules are all configurable through the form. The panel serialises changes back into valid Lua format automatically.

The server config editor covers server name, password, max players, PVP rules, and network settings through a structured interface instead of manually editing servertest.ini.

Steam Workshop mods

The panel handles Workshop mod installs without manual file transfers. Enter a Workshop ID and the server downloads and loads the mod on the next restart. Brita's Weapons Pack, Hydrocraft, and thousands of other mods are supported this way.

What the panel gives you

  • Visual sandbox editor - configure zombie behaviour, loot, survival rules, and environmental settings from a structured form, not raw Lua.
  • Workshop mods - enter a Workshop ID in the panel and the server handles the download. No FTP or manual file management.
  • Setup wizard - guided first-run flow that configures server type, max players, and key settings before the first start.
  • File History - automatic snapshots of your world save. Restore to any checkpoint from the panel if something goes wrong.
  • Player management - view connected players, manage bans and whitelist, and set admin permissions from the panel.
  • Subuser permissions - grant co-admins limited panel access without sharing your account login.

Hardware and location

Servers run on Hetzner infrastructure in Germany. Latency from the UK is typically 20-40ms. The server installs its files from Steam on first start, which is normally quick but can take longer if Steam's download servers are under load.

Getting started

Register at zerosrp.co.uk/register and start a 24-hour trial to configure sandbox settings and test the panel before paying. If you have questions about mod setup or server configuration, the Discord has a support channel for that.
