DarkRP server hosting built by someone who runs one.

Install addons from GitHub without FTP, edit your Lua files live in a browser IDE, and scan your addon pack for injected backdoors. UK and EU servers, plans up to 8 GB self-serve, 16 GB available on request, free 24-hour trial, no credit card required.

Mod Manager

Paste a GitHub repo URL and the panel installs the addon, no FTP, no SSH. Works for any addon or gamemode hosted on GitHub. Paid marketplace addons (GmodStore and similar) are not GitHub-hosted, so those still go in via SFTP.

Browser IDE

Edit Lua configs, job files, and server scripts directly in the panel using a VS Code-style editor. Open a file, make your change, save. No FTP client or local setup required.

Backdoor Scanner

An AST-aware analyser scans your addon files against known backdoor patterns including RunString, loadstring, http.Fetch fetch-and-run, obfuscation, and known malicious domains. Flags the exact file and line.

DarkRP Config Builder

Edit DarkRP jobs, salaries, weapons, server.cfg, ULX groups, and map cycle from a visual editor. Changes write directly to your server files without touching raw Lua manually.

Workshop Integration

Enter your Steam Workshop collection ID and the panel writes your workshop.lua automatically. Add or remove addons from the collection and the file stays in sync.

Crash Auto-Restart

If the server process exits unexpectedly the panel restarts it automatically and preserves the crash log. Downtime from crashes is kept short.

Backups

Automatic backups on a schedule, plus manual backups before making changes. Restore in one click. Backups include addons, configs, and saves.

Up to 8 GB self-serve

UK and EU servers on Hetzner hardware. Self-serve plans go up to 8 GB, with 16 GB available on request for large-population serious RP with heavy addon stacks.

DarkRP plans start at £2.5/mo

Every plan includes the full panel: Mod Manager, Browser IDE, Backdoor Scanner, DarkRP Config Builder, Workshop integration, backups, and crash auto-restart. Start with a free 24-hour trial, no credit card needed. If you subscribe and it is not what you expected, there is a 14-day money-back guarantee.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need FTP to install DarkRP addons?

No. The Mod Manager installs any GitHub-hosted addon by pasting the repository URL. The panel downloads it, extracts it, and places it in the correct directory automatically. For Workshop content, enter your collection ID and the panel generates your workshop.lua. SFTP access is available if you prefer to use a local client, but most addon management can be done without it.

How do I protect my server from backdoors?

Use the Backdoor Scanner. Free DarkRP addon packs and content bundles are a common source of hidden remote access tools. The panel includes an AST-aware scanner that checks your addon files against known backdoor patterns: RunString and loadstring code execution, http.Fetch fetch-and-run chains, obfuscated code, and known malicious domains. When it finds a match it tells you the exact file and line number so you can review or remove it. Run a scan after installing new addons, especially free ones from unknown sources.

Can I edit my DarkRP Lua files directly in the panel?

Yes. The Browser IDE is a VS Code-style editor built into the panel. Open any file from the server: Lua scripts, job configs, init files, server.cfg, and edit it directly in the browser. Changes save directly to the server. For DarkRP specifically, the Config Builder gives you a visual editor for jobs, salaries, weapons, ULX groups, and map cycle without writing raw Lua at all.

What specs do I need for a DarkRP server?

It depends on your addon stack and player count. As a rough guide: 2 GB handles a small server of 10–20 players with a minimal addon set. 4 GB is a good starting point for a semi-serious server with 20–30 players and a standard addon stack including ULX, PointShop, and PAC3. Serious RP with 40+ active slots and a large Workshop collection generally needs 8 GB or more. Self-serve plans go up to 8 GB, and 16 GB is available on request for large communities that have outgrown that.

Do you support MySQL for DarkRP?

DarkRP's default database is SQLite, which is built into the server and works without any additional setup. It handles the majority of DarkRP deployments without issues. We do not currently include a managed MySQL service as part of hosting plans. If your specific addons require MySQL and you need to connect to an external database, you can configure the database settings in your DarkRP config files to point to an external host.
